Welcome to Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire, it is best known for being Shakespeare's city. Visitors from all around the world make the pilgrimage to Stratford-upon-Avon to visit the home and town of the Bard. Set in the beautiful rural countryside, on the banks of the river Avon, it is one of the most important tourist destinations in the UK. With easy road, rail and airport access, it is the perfect place to visit for a holiday or short break.

Many alluring attractions surround Stratford upon Avon, being spread around the south Warwickshire area, Worcestershire and beyond. The market town of Banbury, Kenilworth, Leamington Spa are all close, the university town of Warwick and the popular waterfront attractions of Wootton Wawen, lin ing the banks of the Stratford upon Avon Canal.

Shopping is a big in Stratford. On almost every street is a least one shop catering to the souvenir hunter. Fortunately, they are usually very low-key and do not detract from the historic atmosphere of Stratford. For the serious shopper, there is a small shopping street called Bard’s Walk.
